What exactly does the Bible define as “fellowship”?
I have heard many different views lately and wanted to know what you thought.
1. Fellowship is only possible to have with others, if you have it with God.
2. Fellowship is NOT the act of studying the bible together.
It seems to me that I have no clear definition of fellowship as the Bible describes it.
What do you think?
What is the significance of the 6 men from Joppa that Peter brought with him to the house of Cornelius in Acts chapter 10? Is there any significance? Was it for protection, or for eye witnesses that were Jews? What do you think?
The only clue in the scriptures that I can find is in verse 47 of Acts 10. Here Peter asks who can withhold water for baptizing them? Because they have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.
This would indicate that Peter was talking to the people who came with him. They were there witnessing the chain of events leading up to the baptism of the first Gentiles. I would assume that they were there as witnesses that could affirm the events to other Jews. However, this is just a guess but hopefully an educated one.
